BOTOX®

BOTOX® Cosmetic is the only FDA approved treatment that works by blocking nerve impulses which in turn reduces movement of certain muscles that can cause frown lines. The doctor uses a few tiny injections directly into the muscle. It is minimally invasive and causes little discomfort. The results are a much younger looking, more approachable face.

Restylane®

restylane seattleRestylane® is designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear, synthetic gel made with hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. It carries little risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin for many months.

Thermage™

Thermage™ is a quick, easy and non-invasive alternative to a face lift. Using painless radiofrequency energy, Thermage "lifts" and tightens loose and sagging skin to restore youthful vigor to patients' faces. The Thermage device stimulates collagen production and temporarily reduces wrinkles while keeping the skin surface cool and comfortable. There is no incision or recovery time. Results last about two years or more. Now it can also be done safely around the eyelids and on the body in areas such as the abdomen, arms, thighs, back and hips.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion improves mild to moderate sun damage, scarring, wrinkles and other superficial skin problems. A gentle vacuum helps apply the fine abrasive surface of the diamond tip of the hand piece which is artfully swept across the skin to exfoliate the outer layer of skin and provide a fresh, glowing, younger appearance. This gentle action mechanically removes the uneven outer surface layer of aging or sundamaged skin with no need for anesthesia.  Only a small amount of skin is removed, so sensitive areas such as the face, chest, neck, arms and hands can be treated. Results are comparable to a light chemical peel and should be immediately visible. Microdermabrasion is often performed in conjunction with other skin renewal procedures, such as laser treatment and chemical peels. Multiple treatments are recommended for full effect.

Sculptra®

Sculptra® or New-Fill™ has been used internationally since 1999 for hundreds of thousands of patients in more than 30 countries with such great success that it has been called the "liquid face lift". Sculptra produces some immediate effects and over time encourages the body to produce its own collagen.

sculptra seattleFacial fat loss, or lipoatrophy, is the loss of fat beneath the skin, which can result in sunken cheeks, indentations, and hollow eyes. Sculptra® is a safe, synthetic, and biocompatible material that is injected below the surface of the skin in the area of fat loss. It provides a gradual but apparent increase in skin thickness, improving the appearance of folds and sunken areas. No skin testing is required because Sculptra is a synthetic version of the substance that is naturally produced by muscles during exercise - Poly-L-lactic acid. Sculptra® is not made from human or animal sources and does not require a skin test. Poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) is a biocompatible (does not harm the body), biodegradable (able to be broken down by the body) material that has been widely used for many years in surgical products.

Clinical studies indicated that results last for up to 2 years. Dr. Wortham has found excellent results in treating many parts of the face including the skin around the eyes, the lips, the cheeks and the area between the mouth and nose. The final result of this technique depends on the patient's own body's response to creating new collagen, so the results can vary and effect the number of treatments required for any given individual.

Laser Hair Removal

seattle laser hair removalForget shaving, waxing, tweezing and electrolysis – Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology provides permanent hair reduction and removal. Laser Hair Removal uses high-energy pulses of light to remove unwanted hair from the face, back, legs, bikini line and other areas without damaging nearby tissue. First, a cold gel is applied to the skin. Then the handpiece is moved back and forth across the selected area. The hair bulbs beneath the skin surface absorb the laser energy and are destroyed or diminished so the follicle eventually falls out. Patients can usually return to work and most regular activities immediately after the procedure. Hair loss begins immediately and is intended to be permanent with increased thinning with increased number of treatments.
