Celebrities Share Their Best Dark Circle Secrets

For some people, dark circles under the eyes are a constant struggle each and every day. Whether it has been a problem your whole life or one that just started in adulthood, it can be frustrating constantly being asked if you’re tired or not feeling well when you’re perfectly fine. Here are a few celebrity tips and tricks for helping with under-eye problems.

Gabrielle Union

This actress, perhaps best known for her roles in “Bring It On” and “10 Things I Hate About You,” shared with the New York Times that she uses chilled teabags to help combat dark circles and puffiness under her eyes.

Kate Hudson

The actress and founder of activewear brand Fabletics posted a Snap to Snapchat showing her treating her under-eye circles and bags with “electro-shock” eye patches. These eye patches contain collagen, hyaluronic acid and other products and are heated using electrodes to help treat the eye area.

Lea Michele

This actress, best known for her role on “Glee,” swears by jade rollers. On Instagram she discussed her favorite, Ginger Chi’s Jade Therapy and Argan Treatment Roll. Jade rolls are an old Chinese tradition that help detox the body, increase circulation and de-puff the under-eye area. Victoria’s Secret models Behati Prinsloo and Miranda Kerr have also shared their love for this treatment.

Lauren Conrad

Reality television star and fashion designer Lauren Conrad says to forget the cucumbers when you’re in a pinch and try potatoes instead. She shared on her website that her favorite under-eye trick is to slice up some refrigerated potatoes, soak them in water and then place them over your lids for 15 minutes.

David and Victoria Beckham

Perhaps the most outrageous in the list, this celebrity couple uses bird poop to get rid of under-eye bags and dark circles. The treatment is called a Geisha Facial and it uses powdered nightingale droppings to help freshen and brighten under the eyes.

Sometimes, there’s no quick fix for those circles or bags under the eyes. If it has become a chronic problem, it can be frustrating trying to repair the under-eye area each day before you leave the house to face the world. Many patients who suffer from bags or circles under the eyes are great candidates for blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery. When performed on the lower lid it can rejuvenate the area under the eyes.
