The ‘Lunch Break’ Face-Lift

Women and men across the nation are calling the new Silhouette InstaLift the “lunch break face-lift.” The procedure requires no incisions or surgery and takes less than an hour; hence the nickname suggesting it can be done during your lunch break. As exciting as this new procedure is, we bet you have some questions!

How Does It Work?

During the procedure, an absorbable thread made of polylactic acid is inserted into the skin with cones attached. Each pass of the thread changes the direction the cones are pointed from up to down and back again. This method anchors the skin between the cones and lifts it. Once the thread and cones are absorbed by the body, scar tissue forms under the skin and the skin stays in the lifted position.

Is There Recovery Time After?

As with most procedures, recovery is different for everyone. In most cases, skin may be slightly red and swollen after the procedure. This usually clears up quickly and skin begins looking younger and healthier within just a few hours or days. Makeup can be worn the next day, but you should avoid extensive physical activity, working out and laying face down for the next two weeks.

How Long Do the Results Last?

This is one of the most commonly asked questions about any cosmetic treatment. When it comes to the Silhouette InstaLift, there’s no specific time frame as it depends on the rate at which you age naturally and if any lifestyle or environmental factors are causing you to age faster. So, in a way, the results don’t wear off at all, but eventually you may begin to show signs of aging again. There are several different facial treatments – like peels and injectables, among others – that can help maintain your new youthful look for longer as well.
