As the skin ages, it is common to experience volume loss in the midface that can cause cheeks to look sunken or hollow. At Cosmetic Surgical Arts, Dr. Don Wortham performs cheek enhancement procedures to restore volume and shape to this area of the face and help you maintain a younger-looking profile.

Contact us today at our locations in Lynnwood and Mount Vernon in Washington to schedule a consultation and find out how cheek enhancement surgery can erase your visible signs of aging.

What is Cheek Enhancement?

Although fine lines and wrinkles are some of the most common signs of aging, losing shape and volume in the cheek area is also common. Depending on your individual preferences and level of necessary correction, Dr. Wortham may suggest one of three approaches to cheek enhancement – dermal fillers, cheek implants, or fat transfer.

Dermal Fillers for Cheek Enhancement

At Cosmetic Surgical Arts, we offer a wide range of dermal fillers for the correction of wrinkles and lines. But some of these can also be skillfully utilized by Dr. Wortham for restoring temporary volume to the midface. Fillers such as Radiesse®, Sculptra®, or Bellafill®  are formulated with hyaluronic acid and other substances found naturally in the body to lift and elevate the skin in volume-deficient areas. Results may vary but can last for several months with optimal treatment.

Fat Transfer for Cheek Enhancement

For a more natural, longer-lasting alternative to cheek augmentation, Dr. Wortham may recommend using fat from your own body to restore shape to your midface. During this procedure, a donor site such as the abdomen or thighs is identified, and excess fat is removed and purified, then injected into the cheek area and sculpted to revitalize your natural appearance.

Cheek Implants for Surgical Cheek Enhancement

In cases where a more permanent solution is preferred, we offer cheek implant surgery at Cosmetic Surgical Arts. Under local anesthesia and intravenous sedation, the implants are positioned into the cheeks with carefully-placed incisions to create better facial contours and a more well-defined cheek area.

Am I a Good Candidate for Cheek Enhancement?

During your consultation with Dr. Wortham, several factors will be taken into consideration to determine your candidacy for these procedures, such as your health, medical history, treatment expectations, aesthetic goals, and individual condition. An individualized treatment plan will be created for you, and Dr. Wortham will also discuss all relevant safety information, necessary aftercare, recovery time, and other information that is vital to your procedure.

Contact Cosmetic Surgical Arts today to schedule a consultation and find out how our cheek enhancement procedures can restore shape and volume to your midface with long-lasting, natural-looking results.
