This Year’s Plastic Surgery Trends

While there’s no way to know what procedures will rank highest in 2018, Dr. Wortham and his team have some ideas about what procedures will be trending this year. Thanks to social media, learning about new ways to look and feel your best has never been easier. All it takes is one celebrity or influencer talking about a new procedure and showing off their results to start a chain reaction that can’t be stopped.

The last two years were all about plumper lips thanks to reality television star Kylie Jenner, whose lips and entire look were completely transformed by fillers. Her makeup line specializing in “lip kits” are now some of the most popular and sought-after products in the makeup industry as a result.

Last year also saw a rise in popularity for three procedures we believe will continue to grow into this year’s trends: rhinoplasty, blephoraplasty and rhytidectomy.

Rhinoplasty

Nose jobs, or rhinoplasty, have always been at the top of the pack when it comes to plastic surgery and cosmetic enhancements. That’s because the nose is the focal point of the face. Thanks to the rising age of selfies, people are more concerned about the symmetry of their faces than ever before. Rhinoplasty can be used for more than just cosmetic purposes – it can also correct birth defects and injuries such as a broken nose.

Blephoraplasty

Eyelid rejuvenation, also known as blephoraplasty, is actually the second fastest-growing plastic surgery procedure that focuses on the face. Blepharoplasty can make eyes look younger and more alert. If your eyes are often puffy and people make comments about you looking tired when you aren’t, eyelid surgery may be the solution. The best part is the procedure is done right here in our Lynwood office and only takes about an hour.

Rhytidectomy

Thanks to advances in technology and medicine, we’re living longer than ever. Studies have shown that most people feel younger than they actually are, and looking your age can be one of the most frustrating parts of growing older. For those who want to look good no matter their age, rhytidectomy, or face-lift, might be the answer. A face-lift is one of the most common plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures available, designed to treat wrinkles and skin laxity of the face for a younger, more refreshed appearance.
