When to Consider Breast Surgery Revision

March 7, 2016 by

breast surgery revision

Breast surgery is the number-one most requested cosmetic procedure in the country. Variations include lifts, reductions, the placement of implants, fat transfers and even reconstruction of breasts lost to cancer or a terrible accident.

If you’ve already had breast surgery and are not satisfied with the results, a breast surgery revision may be in order. Of course, there are several factors to consider before making your final decision.

You’re Suffering Physically

If you received breast implants to get a larger bosom when you were younger and are now suffering with pain in your back, shoulders or neck, your large breasts may be the cause.

Having the implants removed or perhaps replaced with smaller implants can make all the difference in your discomfort.

You Are Noticeably Asymmetrical

This can happen if an implant ruptures or the previous surgeon added or removed too much tissue.

If you feel your breasts are lopsided and one is definitely larger than the other, you can choose to either increase the size of the smaller breast or reduce the larger one to match the smaller breast.

The choice is yours and our surgeon will be able to help you decide which option would be best.

You Don’t Like Your Breasts

If your current surgical results make you unhappy, think long and hard about the reasons behind your feelings. If you feel your breasts are the wrong size or are too low on your chest wall, these issues can be corrected during a breast revision surgery.

If you have large scars you’d like revised, we can discuss the possibilities. While you need to have realistic expectations, cosmetic surgery can usually give you precisely the breasts you want.

It’s Impacting Your Intimate Life

How a woman feels about her body, including her breasts, affects self-acceptance and self-esteem.

If the results of your previous surgery are unsatisfactory, you may find it difficult to be intimate with your partner.

If this is causing your relationship to suffer, a breast surgery revision may be just what you need to restore your confidence.

Deciding to undergo a breast surgery revision is a huge decision. If you’d like to schedule a consultation to discuss the option, contact Cosmetic Surgical Arts Center today for an appointment at your earliest convenience.
