Treat Lines And Wrinkles With Restylane

February 19, 2018 by

Restylane

Dermal fillers provide a volume boost for the facial skin, but not all of them are created equal. Acid-based fillers are generally more effective at smoothing away wrinkles and creases because the gel compound draws in and holds moisture, and this results in a sponging of the skin layers. Restylane is a popular filler gel and is used to plump depressed areas of the face and also to augment the lips.

We recommend Restylane because it comes in several forms, each of which targets specific skin concerns. When we consult with our clients, we explain the benefits of each variety of Restylane and will suggest the use of one or more of them in order to create the desired look.

Who Benefits from Restylane

Restylane is a gel formula containing hyaluronic acid. This acid is a type of polysaccharide and it is created naturally by the body. Most of it is in our skin, and its presence helps keep the skin layers moist and plump. As we age, however, we don’t produce as much of it as we did when we were younger.

Restylane contains non-animal source hyaluronic acid. The acid is generated by a Streptococcus strain of bacteria. This makes it safer for use than hyaluronic acid derived from animals. There’s virtually no risk of rejection or negative reaction when treated with this non-animal source of the acid.

Those with deepening creases and nasolabial folds can benefit from Restylane injections. It’s also effective at smoothing away crow’s feet that form near the corners of the mouth. The lips can also be augmented when the gel is injected directly into the lip tissue. Individuals with thinning lips can enjoy a more youthful pout after receiving Restylane injections.

During the Consultation

We want to consult with the client so that we can observe the severity of facial skin wrinkling. The thickness of the skin and the location of creases and folds will determine the type of Restylane to use and the appropriate dosage.

We will schedule a single treatment session. The injection procedure is completed in just about 30 minutes, and there’s no downtime or the need for a second series of injections.

Immediate Results

As soon as the gel is injected into and below the skin layers, the acid particles immediately begin to attract and bind with water molecules. The gel doesn’t move around beneath the skin, so there’s no need to mold it into place. In just a few hours, the plumping effect is noticeable. The gel itself is eventually degraded, but the overall effect can last for up to nine months.

The skin is now smoother because of the added volume. The surface is more taut and supple, so wrinkles become barely noticeable.

Easier Than Resurfacing or Ablation

Resurfacing techniques can actually discolor the skin or cause unwanted bruising. Skin ablation is a surgical procedure, something that many adults feel they aren’t ready for or don’t need. Restylane is a simple cosmetic fix that doesn’t treat the skin directly, so it’s suitable for all skin types and skin tones.

Learn more about Restylane and how it can treat lines and wrinkles. You can have a more youthful appearance without the need for any sort of invasive procedure. Contact Cosmetic Surgery Arts Center to find out how simple and effective this treatment really is!
